Airports

For more than 20 years Kauno Tiltai has been constructing and reconstructing airports. The company has reconstructed Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga and Pociūnai airport runways, aprons, aircraft and other special airport sites. If necessary, the reconstruction works are carried out at nighttime without disruption daytime airport opeartions.

Development of Kaunas Airport. Designing and construction of a new taxiway and platform

Start date: 2013 June End date: 2014 October Value: 3 million euros
Expanding the southern part of Kaunas airport the company will design and construct a new 190 m-long and 23.2 m-broad taxiway with 10-m broad edge safety strips; will install a platform with an area of 21.2 thousand m2. »

Reconstruction of the Runway of Kaunas Airport

Start date: 2010 July End date: 2010 October Value: 5,6 million euros without VAT
During the reconstruction the 45-metre wide 1.911 km-long runway was renewed. The reconstruction was carried out at night, from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m., working in 5-6 hour shifts without closing airport operations in a daytime. The works were carried out by a team of 60 workers using 20 pieces of special machinery and 20 dump trucks. »

Expansion of the Apron at the Kaunas Airport, Stage I

Start date: 2008 November End date: 2009 August Value: 6,4 million euros without VAT
During reconstruction the apron was widened up to 32 thousand m2. A 1068-metre long/46-metre wide main runway and a 200-metre long/46-metre wide connecting runway were constructed. To ensure the airport safety and to be able to carry out the airport maintenance a 918-metre long/4.5-metre wide inspection road was built. A surface water collection system nearly 900-metres long was installed. Before getting into the environment the surface water is cleaned at oil-pollution cleaning facilities with a capacity of 55 l/s. A 4411-metre long drainage was also installed.
