Awards
Kauno Tiltai is the largest transport infrastructure company in the Baltics. The company presents objects it has built in the competition for the Outstanding Product of the Year organised by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.
Road infrastructure construction Project “Connection of IXB transport corridor (Žirniai str.) and Vilnius International Airport” has been completed within 6 months and was awarded a gold medal at the contest Product of the Year 2013.
During reconstruction of the Jakai roundabout, a four-lane overpass, the longest in Lithuania – 610-metres – was built. It was awarded a gold medal at the contest Product of the Year 2010.
During construction of the missing link of IXB transport corridor, a 380-m long overpass was built. This project received the highest award at the Outstanding Product of the Year 2008 – a gold medal.
During reconstruction of the Kaunas railway tunnel built in 1861, a 108-metre long section was rebuilt. This project received the highest award at the Outstanding Product of the Year 2009 – a gold medal.
Bridges and Viaducts
During reconstruction of the 287.55-metre long P.Vileišis Bridge built in 1960, the bridge deck and the metal bridge structures with a total area of over 12,000 m2 were repaired, 534-metre long parapets were erected, the new pavement was laid, the road approaches and cones were arranged. Communication and trolleybus contact networks were reconstructed, the new bridge lighting supports were built.
Within a year of building the first bridge to the Nemunas River Island the company built a frame bridge, 60.9-metre long and 14.6-metre wide with three traffic lanes. Abutments were built on reinforced concrete pole foundations. Intermediate steel concrete bearings were fixed in the monolithic reinforced concrete grillage and in the span structure. The span structure is a reinforced concrete monolithic hollow slab with transverse diaphragms at the abutments and intermediate bearings.
A timber arch bridge across the Nevėžis River has been built. The bridge is 75-metres in length and 3.2-metres in width. In addition, a 800-metre long pedestrian path was laid.
Bearings and pylons of the Aleksotas Bridge, built in 1930, have been reconstructed; new bearing parts were installed; irreplaceable metal structures of bridge opening were cleaned and repainted, new metal structures were manufactured for the former movable part of the bridge. In addition, new lighting poles, steel protective guards, and expansion joints were installed. Length of the bridge is 247 metres, width of the carriageway is 10.5 metres, the total width of the bridge is 15.8 metres.
