Kauno Tiltai is the largest transport infrastructure company in the Baltics. The company presents objects it has built in the competition for the Outstanding Product of the Year organised by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.
Road infrastructure construction Project “Connection of IXB transport corridor (Žirniai str.) and Vilnius International Airport” has been completed within 6 months and was awarded a gold medal at the contest Product of the Year 2013.
During reconstruction of the Jakai roundabout, a four-lane overpass, the longest in Lithuania – 610-metres – was built. It was awarded a gold medal at the contest Product of the Year 2010.
During construction of the missing link of IXB transport corridor, a 380-m long overpass was built. This project received the highest award at the Outstanding Product of the Year 2008 – a gold medal.
During reconstruction of the Kaunas railway tunnel built in 1861, a 108-metre long section was rebuilt. This project received the highest award at the Outstanding Product of the Year 2009 – a gold medal.
All projects
During implementation of the project NordBalt power link with Sweden the company will lay 13 km of high-voltage direct-current cable line from Klaipėda transformer substation (Kiškėnai village) to the Curonian Spit (Alksnynė settlement). Total length of the power link with Sweden is 450 km.
The current Savanoriu Ave. overpass located at the edge of the slope will be demolished and will be build a monolithic supporting wall from bored poles of 60 cm in diameter and 12 and 13 m long. The slope will be strengthened with 12 m long ground anchors and reinforced-concrete slabs in 0.4 km reconstructed section. New street foundations, the layer of asphalt, pavements, sewage network, drainage systems and lighting network will be installed.
3.103 km of domestic wastewater network intended for the use in a certain quarter of the city and 473 branches to the residential houses were installed that will be connected to the common city network. 3.295 km of water supply network intended for the use in a certain quarter of the city and 486 lead-in branches were laid. Three local wastewater pump-houses were built and about 95 m of pressure networks.
The company replaced the 110 kW power line with the underground cable in the Vilnius Western bypass construction site. The replacement of the power line was an important part of construction of the Vilnius Western bypass, as the power line impeded to proceed with the continuation of the road.
During the reconstruction the 45-metre wide 1.911 km-long runway was renewed. The reconstruction was carried out at night, from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m., working in 5-6 hour shifts without closing airport operations in a daytime. The works were carried out by a team of 60 workers using 20 pieces of special machinery and 20 dump trucks.

In the Western Lithuania, section Šiauliai- Klaipėda, the company builds the second tracks. In total, 22.1 km of railway tracks will be constructed; when making new track formations 0,5 million m3 of the ground will be excavated, and 11culverts will be installed. During reconstruction of the electricity, communication and signalling networks, 140 km of cables will be laid down, heating of switches will be installed, and noise reduction walls will be erected.
The bridge in Panemunė will be rebuilt and the current span structure will be replaced by a new steel and concrete span structure on reconstructed supports. The new Panemunė bridge will have 4 lanes and be 20.8 m wide and 273 m long, with the longest span reaching 74.44 m. The steel structures of the beam will be welded on site. Afterwards it will be set up on the river bank and hydraulically hoisted on to the reconstructed supports of the bridge.
The company has constructed a domestic waste landfill in the Kazokiškės settlement. The Company laid bypass roads, formed a cell and the bottom liner of the landfill, constructed an artificial geomembrane.
Installation of lighting during the first stage of construction of the Vilnius City Western bypass in the section from Oslo St. to L. Asanavičiūtės St.
During reconstruction the apron was widened up to 32 thousand m2. A 1068-metre long/46-metre wide main runway and a 200-metre long/46-metre wide connecting runway were constructed. To ensure the airport safety and to be able to carry out the airport maintenance a 918-metre long/4.5-metre wide inspection road was built. A surface water collection system nearly 900-metres long was installed. Before getting into the environment the surface water is cleaned at oil-pollution cleaning facilities with a capacity of 55 l/s. A 4411-metre long drainage was also installed.
