Kauno Tiltai is the largest transport infrastructure company in the Baltics. The company presents objects it has built in the competition for the Outstanding Product of the Year organised by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.
Road infrastructure construction Project “Connection of IXB transport corridor (Žirniai str.) and Vilnius International Airport” has been completed within 6 months and was awarded a gold medal at the contest Product of the Year 2013.
During reconstruction of the Jakai roundabout, a four-lane overpass, the longest in Lithuania – 610-metres – was built. It was awarded a gold medal at the contest Product of the Year 2010.
During construction of the missing link of IXB transport corridor, a 380-m long overpass was built. This project received the highest award at the Outstanding Product of the Year 2008 – a gold medal.
During reconstruction of the Kaunas railway tunnel built in 1861, a 108-metre long section was rebuilt. This project received the highest award at the Outstanding Product of the Year 2009 – a gold medal.
All projects
Kauno Tiltai prepared all the project documentation and constructed the second section of the landfill. The landfill’s bottom liner was set up and the embankments were constructed. Landfill monitoring and leachate collection and treatment systems were installed. In total, 240,000 m3 of soil were excavated and a landfill cell of almost 44,100 m2 was formed. The landfill bottom liner contains 4 layers with a total thickness of 1 metre.
With the expansion of the water supply and wastewater networks in the town of Rūdiškės 0.953-km long main and 0.197-km long lead-in (branches for connections) domestic wastewater networks were installed. A new domestic wastewater pump-house (NS-4 (Q=7.2 l/s, H=8.8m, N=4.2kW) and a new domestic wastewater cleaning equipment (Q=540m3/d, GE=3217) were built, 0.274- km long lead-in water supply networks and 0.08-km long lead-in wastewater networks were also installed.
During the construction of Vilnius city western bypass stage I a 4-lane tunnel (150.57 m long) with widths from 36.42 to 48.29 m was constructed. Metal sheet piling was used to construct the tunnel‘s side supports. The reinforced concrete tracery support makes the tunnel architecturally distinctive.
The only road leading to Rusnė is flooded 40 times on average per year rendering it impossible to use by passenger vehicles. The process of construction is well underway – 416 punched poles, 64 columns and 170 overhead beams are now in place. The causeway has also been covered in monolith reinforce concrete panel and concreting works are now completed. One of the most unique places in Lithuania, the town of Rusnė will soon have a new causeway that will solve many its long-lasting transportation issues. The construction is slated to end in May 2019 with a total cost of 9,46 million EUR.

The company closed 2 old landfills in Vilnius, opened 2 composting and 9 ovwersize waste collection sites.
During implementation of this project 4.371-km long water supply and 3.417-km long wastewater networks were installed. The wastewater pump-houses were built in Revuonos Street in Prienai (including a 0.133-km DN80 pressure line) and in a single farmstead of Ignacava (including a 0.325-km long DN80 pressure line) were installed.
During reconstruction the basins of the yacht harbour were deepened, the 565-metre long quays were substantially reconstructed, the 204-metre long breakwater was repaired. The harbour infrastructure was modernized (lightning and electric power lines, navigation and information systems), the safety assurance measures were implemented and a harbour recreation area was established.

During reconstruction of the Kaunas railway tunnel built in 1861 a 108-metre long section of the tunnel was rebuilt, the power supply, signalling and emergency lines were renovated, security systems were installed; lighting was renewed, and a drainage system to collect groundwater from the tunnel vault was constructed. After reconstructing the portals their historical view was restored. The tunnel is 1285 metres in length, 6.6 metres high and 8.8 metres wide.

Expanding the southern part of Kaunas airport the company will design and construct a new 190 m-long and 23.2 m-broad taxiway with 10-m broad edge safety strips; will install a platform with an area of 21.2 thousand m2.

Implementing the construction of Rail Baltica railway line of international significance in the railway section Šeštokai – Marijampolė the company will construct two different width railway tracks: 34.5 km-long 1,435 mm-broad gauge meeting the European standard, and will reconstruct 35.9 km-long 1,520 mm-broad gauge meeting the Russian standard.
